Assalamualaikum, based on your experience, how do the Muslims in Malaysia see CNY as? I mean do they really look forward to it or it's just another holiday?

W'salam w.b.t.
My personal pov, I believe CNY is a celebration that have nothing to do with religion, so it's ok to celebrate it as a Muslim.
Based on my observations, other people, especially kids love CNY because of two things; Dragon Dance and Firecrackers!
So, these are the things they look forward to when it comes to CNY. It's not just another holiday like New Year or Wesak Day

Sy suke CNY sbb:
1) byk client akn cuti panjang...so sy pun bleh cuti
2)sbb banyak open house....sy leh makan...sbb diaorg akan hidangkan makanan chiness halal...
3)part of #2 ...lepas makan leh Yee Sang reramai...sy suke activity tersebut...sy tak pernah percaya...tp bila buat reramai dgn kengkawan...kengkadang kami lupa kami lain bangsa...its fun :)
4) oh ni yg sy lagi over dr bangsa cina...sy terlalu obsess dgn lion or dragon dance...sampaikan kengkawan chiness sy akan beritahu kat tmpat mana yg best & lagak acrobatic yg hebat2 utk sy pergi tonton..:)
5) CNY bkn perayaan agama...sbb tu sy suka...oh lagi satu sblm sy lupa...Big SALE secara besar besaran time ni...sy sgt suke...n last but not leasr sbb sy masih single parent kengkawan sy akan still bagi angpow besar utk sye...hehehee:)
